The room was fairly spacious, atmospheric, quiet, and comfortable. Bathroom was luxurious with a very large soaking tub. We asked for a quiet room and it was provided. We felt it was a little bit warm in our room for sleeping as it was on the upper floor, so they happily turn the air conditioning on for us. It was central air rather than one of those box units of blow on you, so it was a much more consistent and comfortable temperature for a good sleep. Our room was also nice and quiet. I actually quite loved this hotel and wished we had been staying another night (we stay two nights).
We travel quite a bit, and I felt this hotel exceeded expectations, and it went out of their way to provide comfort to their guests.
The location was also great. They had plenty of umbrellas for used as we had rainy weather during our stay. The one day we did have nice weather they opened the pool up just for my husband to use as he enjoys a swim. Thank you!!
Charming residence in the heart of the Loire Valley Castles, “LE MANOIR LES MINIMES” is located in an exceptional setting with its view of the Royal “Château d'Amboise” overlooking the river.

We had a car and decided to stay outside of Amboise - location was great, easy to locate and plenty of on-site parking. Chateau was fantastic, we had a larger room with a table big enough to serve wine and cheese. It was later in October and with the leaves partially gone we had a view of the Loire, quite nice. Restaurant is a must, food and wine top notch. I had the local catch - Hare paired with a nice Chinon. Easy location to travel throughout the Loire.

We come to Amboise every year. It is a good base for exploring the Loire, being situated between Blois and Tours. There are many chateaux in the area, Chenonceaux, Chaumont, and not forgetting Amboise. Amboise has a good market on a Sunday along the banks of the Loire.
There are lots of vineyards and caves surrounding Amboise. We went wine and food matching on this last trip at caves ambacia. Also some good restaurants - la brèche for a special occasion if you can get in.
Our children have enjoyed the Clos de Luca, the mini parc de Chateau, and the nearby Aquarium de Touraine, always good for a rainy day.
It's possible to take boat trips on the Loire (Vouvray), and the Cher (near Montrichard)
Amboise is very walkable and easy to get around. If travelling by car, parking is near to the centre of town. The train station is situated on the opposite bank of the Loire.
Go visit it's a beautiful town. A place close to our hearts.

We loved Amboise, very easy to walk anywhere you want to go. The restaurants are all welcoming, The food was excellent. But remember you are in the country side everything stops serving at 8:00 pm, you are not in Paris. We rented a car it is the easiest way to see the surrounding area.

Amboise is absolutely charming!
Amboise is absolutely charming! Chateau Amboise is one of my favorites and Clos Luce is a must as Leonardo da Vinci's last home. I was there in February for only 2 nights, so unfortunately, the Garage de l'Art was closed. However, I did meet Fernand Martin-Dumagny, the owner and artist, across the street at the brewery. Everyone was very kind and hospitable; I really wish I had more time to enjoy this lovely town!

If you want to be surrounded by Americans when you are in a foreign country then Amboise is the place for you. On the positive side, my traveling companion became ill while we were in Amboise, and I felt perfectly comfortable going out in the evening by myself. In a larger city, that might not have been th case. Similarly, it was easy to get in and out of Amboise to see many other sites in the Loire Valley

If you are considering a trip to the Loire Valley, we recommend Amboise as the hub. Why? It's a charming village right on the Loire River with it's own chateau right in the town. Much smaller than Tours, close to the rail line, affordable and attractive hotels and B&Bs, and close to premier chateaux such as Chenonceau and Chambord. Lots of restaurants and cute shops.

Beautiful buildings and numerous sites to explore and lots of restaurant choices all within walking distance of the B&B. We even found a wonderful little brew pub ("Art is an Ale") with locals enjoying the beers.

WOW! What a super place to stay in Amboise. Its the best accommodation we have ever stayed in in France on our yearly road trips. The house is beautifully designed with great facilities. Lovely and warm on our arrival and spotlessly clean. Very comfy bed and great shower. Owners very attentive answering questions very quickly and easy to check in. Amboise is a lovely town to explore with many restaurants and cafes and shops. We will be back again!
Beautiful, spacious, comfortable “home away from home” with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The perfect location for exploring Amboise on foot, or for a quick getaway by car to visit other villages and towns. Lovely, friendly owners who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Off-street parking was very helpful. I could go on and on… You won’t regret staying at Le Clos Richelieu, it is better than a five star hotel.
Amazingly convenient location in the centre of Amboise, right near the chateau and many restaurants. The breakfast was croissant, baguette and jams, with orange juice and coffee. They'll make you an espresso if you ask, which was awesome. Even though we were told the wifi wouldn't work in the room, only communal areas, it stretched to our room, which was convenient.
The location was amazing. Just a couple blocks from the Amboise castle and lots of restaurants in one direction and a couple blocks from Leonardo's Clos Luce in the other direction. Cute courtyard next to some apartments built into the rock wall. Lovely flowers and plants in the courtyard. Comfortable accommodations. Good washing machine and wi-fi.
Lovely old hotel in a good location. Room was quite small as was the bathroom, but it has been modernised which was good. . Secure parking is available, it is not on site it is about 50 metres up the road. You must pre book it to make sure you get it. The location is great really easy walk into the city centre and attractions. We loved Amboise.
Great hotel in a very good location of Amboise. The castle is in walking distance. Bonus was that there is a private parking close by for a fare rate, so very safe. Also a lot of free parking, but they were all occupied. The room was really nice. Very stylish. Comfortable beds and modern bathroom and an nice view of the castle.
Best hotel I stayed at on my entire Paris trip. The location right next to the Chateaux du Ambois is second to none, and the amenities were cozy. Shower, bed, lights, power all worked as expected. I arrived late and the staff was kind enough to text me the door code to the hotel and leave my room key on the check-in counter.
This is an amazing boutique hotel and the host is a lovely lady. The place is few minutes walking distance from Amboise city center and the Amboise palace. The breakfast was very good. We had a great experience and will come back again. We really loved this charming place. It has something magical.
Easy to find location with free on site parking. Comfortable rooms and nice linens. Just around the corner from the Chateau d' Amboise. Ate at Brunos, excellent. Very nice on site breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel during a Loire Valley visit, excellent location.
We had a cozy, comfortable and very clean room. The hotel was located in a great location and walkable to many sites.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved having wine and cheese in the garden area after a full day of visiting chateaux.
Very good value for this country hotel. Easy to reach Amboise on bike or by car. Nice to have a swimming pool but there were lots of insects in it. Plenty of free parking and good wifi. Comfortable beds and spacious bathroom. Helpful firendly staff.
A great, quiet location with a great host. parking is literally at your door (as the apartment is off a garage). Great to have a kitchen and washer/dryer to use. Strongest shower in France!
This suited my needs well - somewhere to stop for a break between the south of France and my return home via the channel tunnel. Particularly useful to have the parking space outside.
Lovely location close by Amboise, great access to local sights. Room was like new and very comfortable. Hosts were friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious. A charming place!
Wonderful location, wonderful staff. Would happily stay again. Had a superb dinner here on our second night. Air conditioning a big plus given France was gripped by a heatwave.
Such a fabulous experience. Location is excellent and the B&B is so chic. Breakfast cooked by Agnes was incredible. You will LOVE it! Best place we stayed in France by far.
